Burglary protection – light is a deterrent

In principle, burglars should be made difficult. To protect against uninvited persons, the market offers a huge range of different measures. Stand-alone, bright safety lighting that lights up unexpectedly is a component of every safety concept.

Additional safety lighting

For additional safety lighting, spotlights or floodlights are mounted under the roof ridge, for example. Connected with several motion detectors and switched in a row or combined with other electronic security devices, they should illuminate the area around the house as completely as possible.

The light must always be directed away from the house. Only lamps and luminaires that immediately emit the full luminous flux (i.e. 100% light) after being switched on are suitable, such as LED or halogen. However, LEDs are clearly preferable due to their service life and much lower power consumption.

Some protection is also provided by good general outdoor lighting, provided that some luminaires are switched as permanent lights and several luminaires are switched via a maotion detector. An extremely effective reaction to suspicious noises is also to switch on the entire outdoor lighting via a central switch in the living or sleeping area.
