12 Jan SET THE TABLE – LIGHT IN THE DINING AREA
Naturally! The lighting at the dining table plays an important role in creating a pleasant atmosphere and at the same time having enough light for eating and entertaining. There are various ways to illuminate the dining table. Here are a few things to look out for.
ENCHANTING DINING TABLES WITH LIGHT
It’s time to serve! Hardly any piece of furniture is decorated with as much love as the dining table. Attractive and well thought-out lighting is a must. Pendant lights are often favourites: large, small, oval, angular, in a country house look or retro style. Crystal chandeliers also bring glamour to the dining room and transform the convivial space into an enchanting table.
SEVERAL LUMINAIRES LOOSEN UP
To ensure that the light can unfold its effect over the entire surface, the lighting should match the size and shape of the table. Several luminaires with small – but also large – shades have a loosening effect. They can be arranged in a row or in a circle above the dining table.
FLEXIBLE LIGHTING FOR EXTENDING TABLES
Multiple luminaires or luminaires that can be pulled out and/or easily moved are a clever solution, especially for extendable tables. Track Systems provide plenty of light with little installation effort and are also ideal if only one power outlet is available under the ceiling
CLEAR VIEW OVER THE TABLE
Pendant luminaires should not be suspended too high or too low above the table. 60 centimetres above the table is correct. This way, the light cannot dazzle when the lampshades are open, and the view is free to the person opposite at the table. For homework or office work at the dining table, however, the recommended 60-centimetre distance is much too high. Infinitely adjustable pendant luminaires, such as the “C” pendant luminaire, then provide flexibility. the SLACK-LINE system from OLIGO Lichttechnik.
